TEACHING CREDENTIALS

I have a Master of Music degree in Music Theory/Music Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato and a Bachelor of Music degree in Composition from the Biola University Conservatory of Music (California).

I have 30 years of experience teaching private lessons to students of all ages/levels and more than 20 years experience teaching private lessons and music courses at the college level.

My students have included those who have gone on to become:

  • Recording Artists (commercially produced)

  • Performing Artists

  • Audio Engineers

  • Licensed Music Therapists

  • Music Educators (School)

  • Music Educators (Private Instruction)

  • Choral Conductors

  • Music/Worship Pastors

  • Graduate Students in Music

In 2010 I authored Practical Music Theory, a collegiate 400+ page music theory textbook/workbook, published by Factum Musicae.

I have written and arranged more than 300 titles and am a member of ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) and ACDA (American Choral Director's Association).

Because I believe musicians should always be improving their craft, I myself take jazz piano lessons from world-renowned Grammy-award winning pianist George Whitty via video exchange.
