I have a Master of Music degree in Music Theory/Music Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato and a Bachelor of Music degree in Composition from the Biola University Conservatory of Music (California).
I have 30 years of experience teaching private lessons to students of all ages/levels and more than 20 years experience teaching private lessons and music courses at the college level.
My students have included those who have gone on to become:
Recording Artists (commercially produced)
Licensed Music Therapists
Music Educators (School)
Music Educators (Private Instruction)
- Graduate Students in Music
In 2010 I authored Practical Music Theory, a collegiate 400+ page music theory textbook/workbook, published by Factum Musicae.
Because I believe musicians should always be improving their craft, I myself take jazz piano lessons from world-renowned Grammy-award winning pianist George Whitty via video exchange.
